REGULAR BOARD MEETING
OCTOBER 25, 2018
Preamble
Motion by:
BARGER AND NAJARIAN AS AMENDED BY SOLIS
Related to Item 9 (Measure R Highway Subregional Program Semi-Annual Update)
In May of this year, the California Transportation Commission awarded $5 million for the construction of sound walls along the I-210 freeway, in the City of La Canada Flintridge (City), as part of the state’s Local Partnership Program. Construction of the project is estimated to be $10 million, with an additional $2 million for preconstruction costs.
Item 9 on the Ad Hoc Highway Congestion & Roads Committee agenda details the City’s substantial local commitment to this project, dedicating $3.712 million of its share of the Measure R Highway Subregional Program to this effort. This local commitment, combined with the $5 million in state grant funding, leaves a gap of $3.288 million to complete the project. Staff has confirmed that money is available in the Call for Projects Reserve Fund which can be used to fund this gap.
