Metro is developing an Active Transportation Strategic Plan (Plan) to identify needs, resources, and strategies to improve and increase walking, bicycling and transit use in Los Angeles County. It will serve as our agency’s overall strategy for funding and supporting active transportation facilities and programs. The Plan will build on the local and sub-regional planning efforts happening across the County. We hosted seven open house workshops in August throughout the County in order to gather input on improving first and last mile access to transit, improvements to the regional network of walking and bicycling facilities, and opportunities for supporting local and regional partners to get these projects and programs implemented. Over 250 stakeholders attended in total. Staff will provide a project update and report back on what we heard during the open house workshops.
