Title

Issue
ISSUE

The existing access control installation, maintenance, and repair services contract expires December 31, 2025. To avoid a lapse in services and continue providing safe, quality, regularly scheduled, and as-needed access control maintenance services systemwide, including the Metro Gateway Headquarters Building, a contract award is required effective January 1, 2026.

Background
BACKGROUND

Metro's security infrastructure is supported by the Intrusion Detection and Access Control System (IDACS), a centralized platform designed to manage access and detect intrusions throughout Metro facilities. The system utilizes multiple components, including identification badges, badge readers, motion sensors, security cameras, and dedicated computer hardware and software to monitor and control access.

Originally installed at USG in 1995, the system serves as the first line of defense against unauthorized access to the building, its individual floors, and provides access control for employees who work within the building.
